WIN THE BATTLE, BUT LOSE THE WAR
Camilla Angolini
Your voice is loud
be quiet
I feel nauseous
Can you be quiet?
You are choking me
I dare you, talk back
we can’t both win
just let go
let me drown you in a deep, black void
where nothing matters
you don’t matter
nothing can be real in the dark
but if I let you win
if I let go
it is over for the both of us
why do you keep my head underwater
when you know I can’t breath?
the intrusive thought
are you satisfied now?
You made me little, fragile, numb
why do I allow it…
too weak, pathetic
when you see yourself in the mirror
how can you stand that look?
Can’t do anything right
it’s not gonna be good enough
you’ll never finish what you started
and if you do
it won’t be worthy
I can hear you
but I don’t know where the sound is coming from
Why can I hear you?
If I find the reason and explain it to you
would you then be quiet?
